In this digital age of Facebook, texting, Instagram etc.while fast paced and requires little time, we miss out on emotions and feelings which for some are hard to express in written words and pictures. Additionally the lack of eye contact also leads to less true connection. I aways have felt if something was important it was worth the time and effort to truly interact with other(s). If one uses some scale of relevance and importance, then the digital stuff is probably low of the totem pole! Just something to use a barometer for Facebook

Apropos to the conversation at the Salon, I found this cool image called "The Tree of Contemplative Practices" - very helpful tool for thinking through the relationship between meditation, going for a walk, prayer, etc. http://www.onbeing.org/blog/the-tree-of-contemplative-practices/7343 Which branch do you find most useful in your life?
